"The best
way to raise bread!"
I hope you will join me in
making better Sourdough bread and sharing the knowledge with
others. It is a wonderful and relaxing hobby.
Sourdough is easy to make, but must be taken care of. Never
use tap water (chlorine kills yeast), and continually replace
it as you use it.
If you've never made bread
before, why not start with this beginning bread making site.
Useful information to get you started - then you can try your
hand at making sourdough with a little more confidence.

In the beginning,
all risen breads were sourdough, or naturally leavened,
breads, and there is no real reason they can't be today. There
was no store-bought yeast. Baking your own bread can be time
consuming and a lot of people today don't set aside time for
doing something the old fashioned way. They have learned to
rely on frozen foods and microwaves. Using commercial baking
yeast was brought about to save time, not to make better
bread. With practice, you can get the taste, crumb and rise
you want from sourdough.
